Cobourg Police have arrested a woman from the Greater Toronto Area following an investigation into an alleged cryptocurrency investment fraud involving an elderly resident. The investigation began in October 2025 after a 76-year-old woman reported losing approximately $13,000 through an online scheme that encouraged her to invest money in cryptocurrency. The Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureau subsequently launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the financial loss.

According to police, the victim was deceived through an online investment scheme involving cryptocurrency. The fraudulent activity resulted in a financial loss of approximately $13,000. Police have not released additional details about the online platform or the specific representations made to the victim.

Following her arrest, Arora was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The charges stem from the investigation into the senior’s reported cryptocurrency investment losses. The allegations against Arora have not been proven in court.
