York Regional Police say a 40-year-old Toronto man is facing fraud charges in connection with an alleged multimillion-dollar investment scheme.
Police say the investigation began in March 2025 after a complainant came forward alleging they had been defrauded. According to investigators, the person had been promised a return on an investment made with the suspect, who police identified as the owner of Equity Line Service Corporation.
Authorities say that by February 2025, investigators had identified five additional people who had also invested money with the same man. Police allege the funds were misappropriated for personal gain.
Investigators say the accused received more than $2.5 million in investments. He was charged in December with six counts of fraud over $5,000.
York police say they believe there may be more victims and are continuing the investigation.
